My expertise covers two closely related topics: 1. Understanding present day and future climate change risks to human and natural systems; and I’ve developed these research interests as an academic (I was a Senior Lecturer at Brunel University from 2010 to 2017) and, more recently, by working directly on policy in government departments/advisory bodies including the Committee on Climate Change (CCC), the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Now at QMUL, my aim now is to bring these research strands together in a more holistic fashion and to develop climate analyses that are both scientifically robust and relevant to society, whilst also being of use to decision makers working on climate change risks on different spatio-temporal scales. I’m really interested in working with DTP students who share this passion for policy-relevant climate research. |
