Research Interests:

I’m interested in questions at the interface of macroecology and macroevolution, particularly questions we can ask using data from museum specimens. My group works on lots of different questions and taxa. Current projects include the evolution of echocolation using living and fossil cetaceans, field metabolic rate and climate change in fishes, the evolution of body shapes in snakes, using specimen locality data to improve conservation assessments across vertebrates, convergent evolution in several groups of mammals, and methodological questions about how to best measure disparity, and how to incorporate information from fossil and living species. Happy to discuss project ideas!
