Understanding the development of the green economy and environmental policies at State level in the USA
Organisation: KMatrix and UCL
Supervisors: Mark Maslin (UCL) and Stephen Howard (KMatrix)
Description:

A multi-source triangulation approach has been developed by KMatrix to estimate the full size of the green economy, including the supply chain, for the major economic powers. According to our estimates the full US green economy is worth $1.3 trillion in annual sales revenue and employs nearly 9.5 million Americans (measured as full time equivalents, FTEs). In this project we wish the successful post-graduate intern to analysis this huge data set at a State level to understand the internal and international flows of goods and services. We need a trained environmental scientist with a working knowledge of economics to complete this one month project which can be taken on a part-time basis. The green economy is a key component of the US economy and this work will help support future policies need ensure continued competitiveness and increased environmental protection.

This internship would be suitable for part-time study.
