Speakers needed for UCL & BANC joint event to mark BANC’s 40th Anniversary – 19 November 6-9pm

The UCL Conservation Society together with the British Association of Nature Conservationists (BANC) are hosting a joint event at UCL, to mark BANC’s 40th anniversary. The theme of the event is “Old wisdom meets new energy” and the idea is to have speakers from different generations and conservation backgrounds talk about their view and approaches to tackling the climate and ecological crisis we face.

Each speaker will give a talk, and then there will be an open discussion, networking opportunities and career Q&A. We have some amazing speakers confirmed including:

TONY JUNIPER (Chair of Natural England)

STEPHANIE HILBOURNE (former Chief Executive, The Wildife Trust)

CHRIS HOWE (Head of Food & Landscapes, WWF-UK)

We have 2 young conservationist confirmed too but unfortunately a third has had to drop out. So if anyone is interested in participating please get in touch, I think it’s going to be a great event and a good place to present your research/work/general thoughts on these issues! We are aiming for early career (e.g. PhD, Post-doc, less than 5 years professional experience…).

Flyer for the event can be found UCL-ECOS conference flyer-final

Deadline: November 18, 2019
