A student group working with the UCL Climate Action Society, Green UCL and the Students’ Union is organising UCL’s first ever student-led sustainability conference, inspired by similar events held at other universities. The conference will take place on Saturday 2nd February, 2019 during the day (between 12-4pm). The theme is “Sustainability in Our City”, and their main aim is to challenge and broaden perceptions on what sustainability is, and how we can all take part in it.
They are still welcoming collaborators for this exciting event, and aim to incorporate a range of topics in order to broaden the perception of sustainability. If you are interested in the event, but not sure whether your area of interest is relevant… why not look at the SDGs.https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdgs. These goals give an idea of how multifaceted sustainability really is… not only considering ‘natural environment’, but other aspects like governance, economic stability, equality, poverty, education and health.
If these topics are part of your research/ studies/ project/ society/ personal interest then you should get involved in the event! You can sign up to be a speaker, hold a workshop or an information stall at the link below:
