Launch of the UK’s first Climate Services networking group
October 18th 2018 at 6pm at the Royal Society of Arts, London WC2N 6EZ
A new networking community – Mesh – will launch on October 18th, to support the growth of the UK’s climate services industry, bringing together professionals at all levels for the first time. The launch, supported by the London Climate Change Partnership is focused on networking, however will include brief talks by guest speakers and Nick Jackson, from Defra’s Climate Adaptation Team.
The aim of Mesh is to form a community of people with expertise in climate services through free regional networking meetings. Although the UK leads the world in climate services there has not, until now, been a networking group providing peer to peer support, knowledge-sharing and growing contacts at every level in public, private and academic arms of the sector.
Mesh is being set up by Space4Climate, a public-private-academic partnership working collaboratively to ensure a seamless supply chain for climate data from space and the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership, which specialises in providing tailored adaptation solutions. A Bristol-based event is planned for the end of January 2019, and following events will rotate around different regions of the UK.
